Quetico 2008

For the third year in a row my father and I spent a week together in Quetico. Quetico is a provincial park in Canada north of Minnesota in an area known as the Boundary Waters. This year we were joined by my good friend Jeff Ewing, his wife Regina and 12-year old sons Nick & Jake. Our guide again this year was Chuck Mackey, an experienced outdoors man that I can not speak highly of enough. The weather was fantastic and the fishing was superb. We were able to explore new areas of the park we hadn't seen before and I am constantly amazed by the diversity of the scenery as well as the pristine conditions of the park.

As always...as soon as the trip was over I began to anticipate my next visit.

Above: A photo of Dad and I canoeing between campsites. The water was extraordinarily still when we traveled and it was absolutely beautiful.

Above: A photo of Dad and me on the shore between fishing excursions.

Above: A photo of a walleye that I caught while trolling with a "thunderstick." This wasn't the largest fish we caught during the trip but I'd say it was of typical size. Jake aka "Chief Walleye" caught the most walleye during the trip and kept us well fed in the evenings. mmmm....tasty.

Above: A photo of our after-dinner readings we had every night. Each night after dinner we sat around the campfire while I read a book. Perhaps the most outlandish book ever written in the history of the english language. Wait...maybe absurd is the correct term? Left-to-Right: Jeff, Dad, self, Nick, Jake and Chuck. Yea Bubba!! Thanks so much for doing this. The picture of you and dad on the canoe is exquisite. You should blow that up and frame it.

Where's your mood music?? :)
